Benefits of Shark Cartilage

Chondroitin sulfate is the predominant mucopolysaccharide in shark cartilage. In fact, it is used as the standard for testing for mucopolysaccharide content of shark cartilage. Chondroitin sulfate is also a natural constituent of human cartilage and glucosamine is the critical sub-unit of chondroitin sulfate.*1 By providing your body with these compounds, shark cartilage is a source of nutrients that help  maintain the health of your body’s joints.*1,2

Digestion and Absorption

While much of chondroitin sulfate is digested in the stomach, about 20% is absorbed intact.  Even though the chondroitin is broken down, the resulting mucopolysaccharide and critically important glucosamine are well used by the body.4

Nature’s Life evaluated several different sources of shark cartilage before we chose the only one which met our high standards.

• Our shark cartilage is very low in sodium, only 6 mg per capsule (others may contain as much as 30 mg per 500 mg dose).

• Some brands use maltodextrin as a filler and to prevent caking, but our powder is all shark—not diluted with carbohydrates.

• Nature’s Life shark cartilage powder is also high in protein, containing as much as 55%!
